GIIOFAT-P-PA85 is a soy-based palmitic acid powder, >85% C16. Palmitic acid has the highest melting point of the common dietary fatty acids — so it passes the rumen intact, doesn't ferment, and is absorbed downstream where it supports milk-fat synthesis. The lever for dairy operations that need to lift milk-fat percentage without rebuilding the ration.

C16 is a major substrate for milk-fat synthesis in the mammary gland. High-C16 rumen-bypass fat is the established lever for raising milk-fat % in dairy nutrition (Lock et al., Journal of Dairy Science 96:6650–6659, 2013) — the metric many milk-cheque schemes pay against.
At a 55–63 °C titre and saturated fatty-acid profile, the product is solid at rumen temperature — it does not ferment, does not lower rumen pH, and does not disrupt fibre digestion. The energy is delivered to the small intestine.
Energy-dense, low-volume supplementation when DMI is constrained — early lactation negative-energy-balance and summer heat-stress windows where every Mcal per kg of intake matters.
Pairs cleanly with MilkGro (fractionated bypass fat with high bypass PC) for herds that need both the milk-fat lift and the choline component, or with calcium-soap programmes that need their C16 fraction topped up.
Conservative commercial ranges. Final dose is herd-specific and ships on the TDS with the trial sample.
| Use case | Typical GIIOFAT-P-PA85 inclusion |
|---|---|
| Mid-lactation milk-fat % support | 200 – 500 g per head per day (typically 1.5 – 3.0% of ration DM) |
| Early lactation energy density | 300 – 600 g per head per day |
| Stacked with MilkGro through transition window | Combined program — ration is rebalanced; see dairy nutritionist call |
